Rotisserie Chicken Spice Rub
I enjoy making my own spice blends. They taste fresher to me. It seems like each individual spice is more pronounced, and so the flavor shines through. The added benefit of not having weird ingredients or preservatives is also good!
When I make a “rotisserie” style whole chicken, this Rotisserie Chicken Spice Rub is the only thing I put on the bird before I roast it.
Sometimes I will put some lemon and onion inside the cavity of the bird for extra moisture and flavor, but that’s all it will need. It’s delicious!
You can easily make this Rotisserie Chicken Spice Rub with commonly found spices, most of which you probably already have in your pantry!
Also, you can control how much salt you add in case you want something low-sodium.
What is the Best Way to Store Homemade Spice Blends?
• A Mason jar or spice bottles that you buy online are great to use.
• I like to save jars that come with good lids and store my spice blends in them. They are air-tight and I can easily see how much is in there.
• I usually stick a piece of masking tape on the bottom and write the name of the blend on it.
This is what I call a “Fauxtisserie” Chicken because I pressure cooked it in my Instant Pot®. It came out so tender and juicy! This chicken seasoning blend was perfect on it! Instant Pot Whole Chicken

Rotisserie Chicken Spice Rub is a special blend of easy to find spices that is perfect for seasoning chicken. This spice blend is also delicious on corn on the cob, potato salad, and pork chops.
My style of cooking is casual, uncomplicated, and everything is made from my heart. I hope my recipes will help you get the meal on the table a little easier
I’m horrible at mixing spices in the right proportions – I just never get it quite right. This mix was PERFECT and woo definitely be keeping it around. Also it seems like a great base to experiment with (adding curry, or something, as someone mentioned). Thanks for this!
I make a rotisserie chicken just about every Wednesday. Tonight, I went with this rub, and it was as delicious as I expected. That is: pepper, white pepper, cayenne pepper and paprika? Expect some heat, which is just what I wanted. The missus loved it too!
Wow – this spice blend was just what i was looking for. It was on the spicier side but that’s find with us. I used it on baked chicken last night and can’t wait to use it with grilled chicken. Thank you for the recipe! I’m trying to click on the stars to give it a 5 star rating but the page won’t let me.

Simply delicious!!!!
Actually this is almost exactly what I use, however I do also add a teaspoon or curry that I buy in an Indian store. To us, that is a great addition.
