Air Fryer Pickles
If you are looking for tasty air fryer recipes, especially an appetizer or snack, I have a good one for you today.
You can eat these air fried pickles as a snack, or cook them up as an appetizer for a party or backyard barbecue.
Gather together the ingredients. Dry the pickle slices on both sides and set aside.
Coat the pickles with the flour mixture, followed by egg, then the panko breadcrumb mixture.
Set the battered pickle slices in the air fryer basket that has been lined with perforated parchment paper.
Air fry the pickles and enjoy dipping them in a simple mayonnaise, ranch, ketchup, or your favorite dip.
Which Pickles Work Best?
You can use either pickle slices, or pickle chips. I think the chips work better because the slices get a little floppy when they start cooling down.
Some Air Fried Pickles Variations
• Try them on a burger in place of plain pickles.
• Add some cayenne pepper to the panko mixture for some heat.
• Another idea for some heat is to crush some Hot Cheetos® and use them in place of panko.
• Halfway through cooking, open the air fryer and spritz some oil on the pickles. Then continue cooking. This will help them get a little crispier.
