Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Air fryer recipes have become more and more popular as a way to quickly cook foods that we might otherwise deep fry or bake. The choices are endless!
No longer do we need to heat up the big oven to make a batch of pizza rolls or fish sticks. Same goes for deep frying. No need to heat up a vat of boiling oil to deep fry a batch of onion rings or clam strips!
Air frying is way easier, much faster, and in the case of deep frying today's recipe of air fryer chicken wings, quite a bit healthier.
All you need to do to make these Air Fryer Chicken Wings is mix up the marinade and let the wings marinate for a few hours.
Then air fry them! Yum!

Which style of Air Fryer is Best?
That's a great question, and the answer is varied. There are basket air fryers, rack/toaster oven style air fryers, and pressure cooker "crisping" style air fryer combos.
- Basket air fryers have a smaller footprint, for the most part, and have a basket with a handle in the front that you pull out and add the food in. The handle is great for shaking the food halfway through cooking.
You can make cakes, steaks, and all kinds of foods in them. I have one and think it's great: GoWise Air Fryer (affiliate link)
- The rack/toaster oven style is gaining in popularity lately. You open a door on the front like an oven. There are racks to lay the food on. They often allow more than one rack, it varies by brand.
- The other thing some of the toaster oven style air fryers offer is a rotisserie. This allows you to skewer a small chicken or other meat to cook while it rotates. Some models even offer a basket that fits on the rotisserie and spins while cooking, thus no need to stop halfway through cooking to shake the basket.
- The pressure cooker/crisper style cookers have the pressure cooker functionality like the Instant Pot®, as well as a lid for crisping the food after pressure cooking.
They can also be used as stand alone air fryers, which is nice. I own one and really like it: Ninja Foodie 6.5 qt (affiliate link)
You can make as little as 1 batch, or as many as you like, if you use enough wings. For this recipe I cooked all of the wings in three batches.

- ½ cup Orange Juice
- ¼ cup Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire
- ¼ cup Canola Oil
- 4-5 cloves Garlic (pressed, or 3 tsp from a jar)
- ¼ cup Chopped Fresh Parsley
- 1-2 tsp Kosher Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper

Mix the marinade ingredients together in a large bowl. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss in the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge to marinate from 1 to 4 hours, or overnight*.
-
Add the wings in a layer in the air fryer basket or on a rack (depending on style of air fryer).
-
Air fry at 360° for 10-12 minutes. Then flip over and cook for 10-12 minutes on the other side. The cook time will depend on how large the wings are. This recipe is for drummette and flat pieces. Small pieces take less time. Larger pieces take more time.

Serve with a sauce of your choice.
