Tips & Variations

• Soup Variations – Try cream of mushroom or cream of celery for a different flavor base.
• Add Veggies – Stir in a cup of frozen peas & carrots or green beans during the last hour for extra veggies.
• Crisp Up the Cheese – Want crispy cheese? Spoon portions into a baking dish and broil briefly.
Low Sodium Option
- Want to make this recipe with less salt? It’s easy to reduce the sodium without sacrificing flavor. Here’s how:
- Use low-sodium cream of chicken soup – or make it from scratch using my homemade version, which gives you full control over the salt.
- Choose reduced-sodium kielbasa – many brands offer a lower sodium variety of smoked sausage.
- Use no-salt-added frozen hash browns – check for hidden salt in the ingredient list.
