Air Fryer Boiled Eggs

I know, how can I call them “boiled eggs” when there is no water involved in the cooking process?! That’s just what I’m calling them so people know that I mean whole cooked eggs.

Air fryers are so great for simple cooking tasks, such as boiled eggs. You can cook them to your desired doneness in minutes!

I like cooking eggs in the air fryer because the outcome is pretty consistent. I also love getting those pretty yellow yolks instead of the green ones (when I overcook them on the stove)!

If there is an old batch of eggs I might get an off result. I test a couple before I make a big batch for something like deviled eggs. Just to be sure!

Can the eggs be cold, right out of the fridge?

Yes, that’s how I normally do mine. My hens aren’t laying like they used to so I rely on store-bought eggs that I keep in the fridge.

Some of my eggs cracked, is this normal?

Yes it is. I rarely have a batch of eggs where one doesn’t crack. If you get a lot of cracked eggs, or worse, exploded eggs, try cooking them at a lower temperature.

Can I Make Air Fryer Soft Cooked Eggs?

Sure! Just cook them for 10 minutes if you want them soft, 12 minutes for medium (remember, your air fryer may cook differently, so do a test!). It really depends on how soft you like them.

Once you make a few you will be able to dial in your perfect time!

Should the eggs be room temperature?

    1. Sandy says:

I just grab them from the fridge.

  2. Misti says:

Thank you for the air egg recipe it worked great. So much easier than the old boil and after trying to get the peels off. This is wonderful and the ice water had the shells just fall off. Thank you

  3. Tammy says:

How do you get you ninja foodie air to go to 250? The lowest mine can go is 300. I wound up just pressure cooking at high for 7 minutes with a cup of water at the bottom. Turned out perfectly.

    1. Sandy says:

I wonder if some of the models are different in the temps they can go to. How strange, as they are both Ninja Foodies. I just used the buttons.

    2. Sandra says:

Are you talking 250 degrees celsius or Farenheit?

      1. Sandy says:

        Farenheit

The recipe worked great, as is, in my Instant Vortex Mini! The eggs were cold, right out of the fridge … no problem. Also, ignore the preheat and flip over signals. Be sure to open the drawer and get the eggs into the ice water right away…as soon as it says End and before the fan stops! They keep cooking a bit in the residual heat. I had a bit of brown rings around the yolk the first time I made some. Still edible but didnโ€™t look perfect! LOL

  5. Rita says:

My first time fixing eggs in an air fryer (Kalorik) and they turned out just fine at 16 minutes. Thanks

  6. Lea says:

Tried this method, so easy! Cooked 5 eggs for 12 min. The middles were perfect but the shells were hard to peel off without losing some of the egg whites. Any suggestions?

    1. Sandy says:

Chill the eggs first. That usually works for me!

    2. Bernie says:

Tried it in my Cosori airfryer not impressed yolk was runny and the white was not firm

      1. Sandy says:

I’m sorry to hear that. I tested this recipe in 2 different air fryers (Ninja Foodie and Instant Pot Omni Plus), and it worked perfectly.
