Croissant Bake
- 10-12 medium Croissants
- 5 large Eggs
- ¾ cup Whole Milk
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ½ teaspoon Dried Thyme Leaves (not ground)
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Rosemary, minced (or dried, crushed)
- 8 ounces Swiss Cheese Slices
- 3 ounces Provolone Cheese Slices
- 12 ounces Sliced Deli Ham
Topping
- ¼ cup Honey
- 2 tsp Dijon Mustard
- ¼ cup Unsalted Butter, melted
- ½ cup Mozzarella Cheese
Mix the Egg Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, mustard, rosemary, dried thyme leaves.
Assemble the Casserole
Dip the croissant halves in the egg mixture and add them to the prepared baking dish in a random pattern. Save the extra egg mixture.
Pour the remaining egg mixture over the top.
Fold the ham slices in half, then half again. Tuck the ham slices in between the croissants.
Tuck the cheese slices in between the croissants and ham and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top.
Let stand about 10 minutes for the croissants to absorb the egg mixture.
Bake
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix together the honey, Dijon, and melted butter for the topping.
Add the Topping
After the 30 minute cook time, remove the foil and brush the top with all of the honey butter topping.
Return the casserole to the oven and bake uncovered for another 20 minutes, or until the croissants are puffed and light golden brown and the center is set.
