Ingredients

Croissant Bake

  • 10-12 medium Croissants
  • 5 large Eggs
  • ¾ cup Whole Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Dried Thyme Leaves (not ground)
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Rosemary, minced (or dried, crushed)
  • 8 ounces Swiss Cheese Slices
  • 3 ounces Provolone Cheese Slices
  • 12 ounces Sliced Deli Ham

Topping

  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 2 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter, melted
  • ½ cup Mozzarella Cheese

Instructions

Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish (bottom and sides) with butter or cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Cut the croissants in half (or in thirds if they are large).

Mix the Egg Mixture

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, mustard, rosemary, dried thyme leaves.

Assemble the Casserole

  • Dip the croissant halves in the egg mixture and add them to the prepared baking dish in a random pattern. Save the extra egg mixture.
  • Pour the remaining egg mixture over the top.
  • Fold the ham slices in half, then half again. Tuck the ham slices in between the croissants.
  • Tuck the cheese slices in between the croissants and ham and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top.
  • Let stand about 10 minutes for the croissants to absorb the egg mixture.

Bake

  • Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix together the honey, Dijon, and melted butter for the topping.

Add the Topping

  • After the 30 minute cook time, remove the foil and brush the top with all of the honey butter topping.
  • Return the casserole to the oven and bake uncovered for another 20 minutes, or until the croissants are puffed and light golden brown and the center is set.

Serve

  • Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
