White Chocolate Halloween Ghosts

It’s time for another Halloween party snack! These scary little white chocolate candy ghosts are a sweet addition to your Halloween party! This is a fun recipe for the kids to help with!

Get out your slow cooker, because that’s about as hard as it gets to make these white chocolate peanut cluster ghosts.

Since they do contain peanuts, so if you want a peanut-free candy, think of something else to use in place of them. Just think of what would be delicious coated in velvety white chocolate!

Here are a few ideas:
• Macadamia Nuts (halved)
• Granola
• Mini Marshmallows
• Coconut Cookies (roughly chopped)
• Vanilla Wafers (roughly chopped)

Try to keep the color light so it doesn’t spoil the effect of the white ghosts.

Once the chocolate has melted slowly, just add the peanuts and make your ghosts! You can give them the rough shape you want, to make them look like they are floating in the night sky on Halloween!

Let the kids put on the googly eyes and the howling mouth, and it will be a super fun Halloween activity for the whole family!

White Chocolate Halloween Ghosts are scary crock pot candy peanut clusters. A fun activity kids can help with. Howling candy ghosts ready for trick-or-treat!

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: Halloween
Keyword: Halloween candy ghosts
Servings: 20 +
Calories: 199 kcal
Author: Sandy Clifton
Ingredients
  • 2 lbs White Melting Chocolate (White Almond Bark or Candy Coating)
  • 4 oz White Sweet Baking Chocolate (such as Baker's Premium White Chocolate Baking Bar)
  • 2 cups White Chocolate Chips
  • 16 oz Salted Dry Roasted Peanuts
  • 16 oz Unsalted Dry Roasted Peanuts (or use all salted)
Decorations
  • Candy Googly Eyes
  • 1/4 cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips (Howling Mouth)
Instructions
  1. Line 3 baking sheets with parchment (this recipe makes a lot!).

  2. In a 5 qt or larger slow cooker, add the white melting chocolate, white sweet baking chocolate, and white chocolate chips. Put the lid on and set to LOW for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally (you will want to check it to make sure it is not burning).

  3. When the chocolates are all soft and melted, stir to combine them.

  4. Add all of the nuts to the crock pot and stir them in well. Put the lid on and switch setting to Warm, or turn off the slow cooker (but leave the crock in the housing to stay warm).

  5. Use an ice cream scoop or a Tablespoon, depending on how large you want your ghosts, to scoop small mounds onto the parchment paper. You can shape them a little to resemble ghosts.

  6. Place the eyes on, and an upside down chocolate chip for the howling mouth.

  7. After you have used all of the mixture, Rinse your crock with hot water.

  8. The candies will take about an hour to cool and set. When they are set, transfer to an air tight container. These keep well for a week or so, and are wonderful to give out to trick-or-treaters, or as Halloween party favors.

Hi, is it possible to do this without a crock pot? Maybe stovetop double boiler? Or glass heatproof bowl?

Yes, absolutely! Just heat gradually, don’t let the water touch the bowl, and stir to melt, adding the peanuts at the end.
