Homemade Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • ¼ cup Chicken Breast, diced
  • 2 ½ cups Whole Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon Garlic Powder (or Onion Powder)
  • 1 ¼ cup All-Purpose Flour

Instructions

  1. Add the broth and diced chicken to a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer . Take pan off of the heat.

  2. Remove 1 cup of the broth and add to a mixing bowl. Add the milk, spices, and flour to the bowl and whisk until combined and smooth.

  3. Pour flour mixture into the saucepan over medium heat and stir slowly and continually for 6 minutes. The mixture will thicken. Once soup thickens to coat the back of a spoon, it’s done.

  4. Remove from the heat and use immediately or store in an air-tight container.

Use 1 ¼ cups of this cream of chicken soup in a recipe that calls for one 10.5-ounce can.
