Ingredients

  • 2 (6 oz) pkgs Flavored Gelatin (such as Jell-O®)
  • 1 ¾ cups Boiling Water
  • cup Cold Water
  • 1 (12 oz) can Evaporated Milk (fat free, if possible)

Optional

  • Food Coloring

Instructions

Prep

  • If you have a brand new brain mold, wash it in warm soapy water and then rinse & dry it thoroughly.
  • Start your water boiling.
  • Spray the inside of the brain mold with cooking spray. Stabilize the brain mold in a bowl so it doesn't tip over. Set aside.

Make the Jello Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the Jello in the boiling water. Whisk until completely dissolved.
  • Pour in the cold water, stir.
  • Pour in the evaporated milk. Stir well.

Optional Coloring Step

  • If you are using food coloring, add it now and whisk well.

Add to the Mold

  • Then pour the mixture into the brain mold.

Chill

  • Place in the fridge and chill until set, at least 2 hours.

Serve

  • To release the Jello brain from the mold, gently shake it to loosen it before inverting it onto a plate. It should plop down onto the plate. If not, shake it again and invert again.

Notes

Make-Ahead

You can make this ahead a couple days and just keep it in the mold in the fridge, covered with plastic wrap.
