Homemade Onion Soup Mix

Homemade Onion Soup Mix is a great pantry staple to have on hand to add flavor to recipes like pot roasts, soups, dips, and many others. You can make your own onion soup mix from scratch, and control the amount of salt and unwanted ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Minced Dry Onion Flakes
  • 2 Tablespoons Beef Bouillon Powder* low sodium
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Parsley Flakes
  • teaspoon Ground Celery Seeds
  • teaspoon Black Pepper
  • teaspoon Sweet Paprika
  • teaspoon Salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together and store in an air tight container, such as a mason jar.

  2. Store in a cool dark place, such as a cupboard or pantry.

Recipe Notes

*To make vegetarian, use vegetable bouillon in place of beef.

 

This mix to substitute for 1 packet of dry onion soup mix. Double or triple recipe to make enough for several uses.
