  • 2 cups Cranberry Juice, unsweetened
  • 1/2 small Orange, pierced several times through the rind
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 (1 inch) piece Fresh Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Black Peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp Cloves
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 1/4-1/2 cup Honey
  • 3-4 oz Bourbon

  1. Add cranberry juice, orange, cinnamon sticks, ginger, peppercorns, cloves, and star anise in a small sauce pan and bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Turn to low, partially cover with a lid, and let simmer for 10 minutes. Then remove from heat and put the lid all the way on for a few more minutes.

  2. Remove the lid and strain the mixture and return it to the pan. Stir in the honey to taste.

  3. Pour 1 1/2 oz to 2 oz of bourbon into each 8 oz glass and then pour in the hot, spiced cranberry juice. Stir and enjoy hot!
