Ingredients

  • ΒΌ - 1 lb Broccoli, fresh (or more as desired)
  • 1 cup Water (for the pressure cooker)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of water into the inner pot of the pressure cooker (2 cups for 8 qt).

  2. Break up the head of broccoli into florets. (Not too small). Put them into the steamer basket.

  3. Place the basket of broccoli into the pot and place the lid on. Set the steam release knob to the Sealing position.

  4. Press the Pressure Cook (or Manual) button or dial, and then the +/- button or dial to select 0 minutes. High Pressure. This will yield a soft broccoli.

If you want a bit firmer broccoli, start with Hot water in the pressure cooker, and set to 0 minutes at LOW pressure.

  5. As soon as the pot beeps that the cook cycle is finished, turn the steam release knob to the Venting position to do a Quick Release of the steam/pressure.

  6. As soon as the pin in the lid drops down, open the lid and use a potholder to remove the basket and serve hot.
