Ingredients

  • 1 3-pound Whole Chicken*
  • 4 Tablespoons Neutral Oil canola, grapeseed, or safflower oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Sage
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Table Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Begin the recipe by patting the whole chicken dry.

  2. In a small mixing bowl mix together oil, dried sage, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, table salt and black pepper.
  3. Rub or brush the marinade over the whole chicken, ensuring that every part of the chicken is covered including the inside of the chicken.

  4. Preheat the air fryer on 360° F for 5 minutes.

  5. Place the marinated chicken into the Air Fryer on 360° F for 40 minutes, breast side down. After 40 minutes, turn the whole chicken carefully and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

  6. After 50 minutes take the whole chicken out of the air fryer and check that the internal temperature of the meat is 165° F. Take the temperature in thickest part of the breast, and at the thickest part where the drumstick and thigh meet the breast.

  7. Let the chicken rest about 5 minutes before cutting. Serve hot.

Recipe Notes

*You can cook a larger chicken if your air fryer can fit it in its basket or shelf, etc. Just make sure there is room for the air to circulate as the hot air is what cooks it.

Cook times will vary with the size of the chicken.
