Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cranberry Juice, unsweetened
  • ½ small Orange, pierced several times through rind
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 (1-inch) piece Fresh Ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Black Peppercorns
  • ½ teaspoon Whole Cloves
  • 2 Star Anise
  • ¼-½ cup Honey
  • 3-4 ounces Bourbon

Instructions

  1. Add cranberry juice, orange, cinnamon sticks, ginger, peppercorns, cloves, and star anise in a small sauce pan and bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Turn to low, partially cover with a lid, and let simmer for 10 minutes. Then remove from heat and put the lid all the way on for a few more minutes.

  2. Remove the lid and strain the mixture and return it to the pan. Stir in the honey to taste.

  3. Pour 1 ½-ounce to 2-ounces of bourbon into each 8-ounce glass and then pour in the hot, spiced cranberry juice. Stir and enjoy hot!
