Ingredients

  • 6-8 Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (any kind. Medium to large size)
  • 2-3 cups Strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice (about ½ of a lemon)

Optional

  • 1-2 Ripe Pears (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • ¼ cup Sugar

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in the inner pot of the pressure cooker.

  2. Put the lid on and set the steam release knob to Sealing position.

  3. Press the Manual (or Pressure Cook) button and then the +/- button to select 4 minutes.

  4. After cooking cycle ends, let the pressure cooker Naturally Release the steam for 15 minutes. Then manually release the remaining steam.

  5. Once all steam/pressure is out of the pot and the pin in the lid drops, open the lid carefully, facing it away from you.

  6. Stir the applesauce. Then use a potato masher to mash up the fruit and get the consistency you like. If it is too watery for you, press the Sauté button and cook out some of the water, stirring constantly.

  7. You can adjust sugar at this point as well. Just taste the applesauce, and stir in more sugar, if desired. Stir once more before transferring to other containers to be sure sugar has completely dissolved.

Recipe Notes

Use any variety of apples you like. De-stem fresh strawberries before cooking.
