Accessibility Statement for Simply Happy Foodie

Last updated: October 2025

Simply Happy Foodie, LLC is committed to making our websites usable and accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to follow best practices and standards defined by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level.

What we’re doing

  • Structure & headings: We use clear headings, lists, and landmarks to support screen readers.
  • Images: We aim to provide meaningful alt text for recipe/process photos and decorative images are marked accordingly.
  • Color & contrast: We test color combinations to meet recommended contrast ratios.
  • Keyboard access: Navigation, menus, accordions, and recipe cards are designed to be operable via keyboard.
  • Forms & labels: We use descriptive labels, instructions, and error messaging.
  • Video & media: When we publish videos, we aim to include captions and/or transcripts.
  • Ongoing review: We regularly audit templates and new posts to maintain and improve accessibility over time.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We prioritize fixes based on user impact and frequency. If you encounter an issue, please let us know (details below) so we can address it.

Feedback & contact

Please email sandy@simplyhappyfoodie.com (subject: “Accessibility”) if you encounter barriers on our site. Include the page URL, your browser and any assistive tech you’re using, and a brief description of the issue. We review all feedback and work to address issues that impact access. While we may not be able to respond to every message individually, your input helps us improve.

Formal complaints

If you believe we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, you can contact us using the methods above. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve the issue.

Third-party content

Some pages include embedded content or ads served by third parties (e.g., social media, ad networks). We cannot control the accessibility of content served by others, but we advocate for accessible experiences and will assist where possible.

Assessment approach

Accessibility is reviewed as part of our ongoing publishing workflow (theme templates, new posts, and periodic scans). We also consider reader feedback essential to improving the site.
